8:19 was my clock-in time at work this morning. Going strong! I left early today to get an oil change only to find out that my place isn’t free until Monday. So I ran my other errands as planned and (shocker) went to Barnes & Noble later on with Lyndsay. The table we were sitting at was near the Teen section. Staring at me for two hours were the faces of the Jonas Brothers, Twilight stars and Justin Bieber from various magazines. We took advantage of this and Lyndsay quizzed me on topics such as my celeb cutie and what my summer song is. The results were all too fabulous to remember, I’m sure, but I feel like the quizzes have gotten more ridiculous since I was young. But one magazine had a “Then & Now” page of boy bands from the 90’s, so I got to see my favorite Hanson brothers look all fly. Zach does need to do something with that hair, though – then and now.
I am spending the weekend at my dad and step-mom’s house to watch the cats and make sure my step-siblings don’t throw any wild parties – as if they would! I am presently in the basement with “The Proposal” on hold so I can write this before I get too tired and forget what happened today, though I’ve already forgotten most of it. I need to start writing down or recording events throughout the day because I have a terrible memory. This blog is partially for the sake of helping me remember life as it occurs. I need an outlet like this to keep my brain going, as sad at that may sound.
The weekend at the parents house should be a good time. I take advantage of house sitting because I usually get a lot of writing done when I actually stay at the house. I snuggle up in the circle part of the basement couch and click, click, click away on the keys. I also get to do my laundry without needing quarters, and who can really complain about that? I also love playing with the cats when they aren’t napping or whining about not getting enough food or wanting to go outside. I am hoping to get a couple of writing projects done this weekend and also start reading “Eat, Pray, Love” – I want to get this done before the movie comes out.
Also, thank you to all who offered advice on my previous blog. I really appreciate the feedback and encouragement, especially when it comes from those I care about. I feel better after hearing that my ideas aren’t so insane and that I have a potential to reach my goals and dreams as long as I keep working as I have been doing.
The last thing I want to write about before bed is my adventure in cupcake making. I was letting my pasta dinner cook and thought, “This cake mix and frosting has been at the house for a long time. I should do something about that.” So I made cupcakes. There was Funfetti cake mix and milk chocolate frosting, both from Pillsbury. They turned out great and were delicious! Here are some pictures:
So much better to have cupcake fever on a Friday night than Bieber fever like the kids do these days. But I think for now it’s time for bed. I’ll try to write something a little better tomorrow.
