Just so everyone knows, I feel free. The writing project based on my England trip took a long time to complete, and now I feel like I can finally begin my summer. Trouble is that there is only one month left of summer, and this kid works full-time. But I do have a few trips up my sleeve. I’ll explain.
August 10-11 I am going on a brief road trip with shoe Amanda (because I’m not calling her THE Amanda – sorry!). We are going to Minneapolis for a Hanson concert. Hanson, you say!? Yes, the Mmmbop Hanson that you all knew and loved in the 90’s is still around and has been around since the famous tune about god only knows what came about. Sometimes I wonder if they even know what that song is about. Anyways, I love Hanson. I saw them twice in 2007 and have dying to see them ever since. We will also be going to Panera, Trader Joe’s and PF Changs, all of which are favorites for us. Our food selection is not the greatest in Fargo when it comes to affordable and natural products, so TJ’s is a dream when we get the chance to go.
My next (and final) trip before the new semester begins is a weekend trip to Winnipeg, Manitoba (Canada) to see my friend Adam. I met Adam my freshman year in college. He was in a suite with one of my friends from high school. The first time we hung out with just the two of us I stepped on his glasses. Our friendship blossomed from there on. We were also roommates for our sophomore year, but I ended up dropping out and moving home during that time. I don’t get to see him more than once a year, or twice if lucky. And he always visits me, so I thought it was my turn. I’m looking forward to it, and it will complete one of my 101 in 1001 goals. Bonus!
Now on with the kicking butt part of my evening post. Before I continue, know that there are SPOILERS about the movie Salt with Angelina Jolie in this paragraph, so don’t read this if you haven’t seen the movie and don’t want something ruined. With that being said, let’s talk about kicking butt. First of all, I will say that I really enjoyed this movie. It’s not best movie of the year quality, but the action scenes and intense plot left me on the edge of my seat and wanting more. Angelina is a hit and miss actress for me. I much prefer her being crazy in Girl, Interrupted and bad ass in Wanted than being a rude reporter in Life or Something Like It. I really enjoyed her work in this movie, though. And Liev Schreiber – wow! I usually don’t enjoy his work, but I’m eating my words on this one. For others who have seen this, did anyone see him as being a Russian spy? I knew he had to be in on it somehow, but I wasn’t positive on the “how” part. And Salt…is she Russian? Is she CIA? Or wait, is she FBI? Good? Bad? I don’t think it even matters by the end who she is working for or what she’s done, because all that matters is the fact that she got away every time and did everything she needed to accomplish. That is one kick butt woman in my mind!
I suppose that’s good enough for tonight, world. It’s nearing midnight and I have work in the morning. I hope everyone had a fantastic Tuesday and is ready for Wednesday.
