Fact: I have been absent again.
Fact: I have good reason.
Fact: I will love you. (Yes, even YOU.)
I am presently being held captive at Starbucks by Charles Dickens. I wish I could say literally, but that would be a life. Ole’ Boz is beyond deceased. At any rate, I am charged with procrastination and must pay a fine of writing a seminar paper. The one-page “what the paper is about” assignment is done. The five-page Annotated Bibliography is done. The eight-page seminar paper on David Copperfield being a hot mess (and I mean that somewhat literally) is not done. That is the current project. Fact: It is due Wednesday. Time is precious in this world, and so it is with Dickens.
That being said, I’m going to leave you with the ABC thing that I found on the lovely Jasmine’s Eat Move Write blog. It’s not much, but it’s something. Enjoy!
A. Age: Twenty-three. Add another year in July.
B. Bed size: Full. It’s the largest bed I’ve ever owned.
C. Chore you hate: Laundry. The W/D units in my apartment complex are horrid. I typically have to go to one of my parent’s houses to do laundry. I don’t like using them for their W/D unit. (Parents: If you’re reading this…thanks.)
D. Dogs: The last time I owned a dog was when I was too young to understand what a dog was. I want to own one, but I refuse to do so until I have the time to properly care for one. It might be awhile.
E. Essential start to your day: I don’t have anything that is essential. Well, brushing my teeth, that’s essential for me. I would say Starbucks, but I don’t get that every morning (despite what some people think). So…brushing my teeth is a start.
F. Favorite color: Green…nearly any shade. Love green!
G. Gold or silver: Silver. If I were ever proposed to with a gold ring, he doesn’t know me very well. White gold, perhaps, but not gold gold. Ew.
H. Height: 5’5”
I. Instruments you play: Vocal cords. Did piano for two years and pretended to play guitar a few times, but not legit at either.
J. Job title: Writer. (Sigh, I tried.) Web Team Gopher. (Sorry, still trying). Student. I am a student. I work in vitamins. Discuss.
K. Kids: I don’t want to consider them at present. I don’t even want to consider the opposite sex at present. I just want to consider writing about such things, possibly congratulating people who participate in such things. Can I just write books and answer this in ten years? Thanks. (Sorry, Mom.)
L. Live: I live in Canada. AKA North Dakota. I would love to move, though. Seattle and Chicago have been interesting me. London or Bath are always on the list, but that’s England, and that requires a Visa.
M. Mom’s name: Christine.
N. Nicknames: JMill and ween are the only two I can think of. I’ve had loads over the years, but those two stick.
O. Overnight hospital stays: I don’t recall. Most times I’ve had surgery they were the sort where I went home that day. Maybe when I was little there was a stay or two, but I suck at memory.
P. Pet peeve: People who focus too much on what other people are doing than what they are doing. Taking care of number one is the only way you can take care of the rest.
Q. Quote from a movie: “What am I going to do? My wife’s all alone downstairs.” – Ron Weasley “Ron, you don’t have a wife.” – Harry Potter. Deathly Hallows Part One came out last Friday…can you really blame me for this being the quote?
R. Right or left handed: Right.
S. Siblings: Julia (26) and Jared (25). Step-siblings are Thomas and Hannah (Twins, 18). I know their ages aren’t essential, but there you have it. They can’t be mad…I don’t blog about them often.
T. Time you wake up: Anytime between 7 and 10, depending on the day.
U. Underwear: Nothing worth writing home about.
V. Vegetables you dislike: I love vegetables. I saw olive, and I don’t care if that’s a fruit.
W. What makes you run late: Sleeping in too late.
X. X-Rays you’ve had: Again, not really sure. I can only think of one, but maybe that wasn’t right either.
Y. Yummy food you make: My spaghetti is always a delight.
Z. Zoo – favorite animal: Monkeys and penguins.
How do you get out of the procrastination stage?
What are you looking forward to in the coming weeks/months?
