It all started when a collection of 14-year-old girls decided to pound on the Starbucks window. Here I am, sipping an iced cocoa cappuccino after work, writing about today’s blog topic, and BOOM goes the dynamite. There are now six teenage girls, two “adults” and a semi-fetus (AKA “Toddler”) in here. As you can tell, my terminology makes it evident that I am now angsty.
In other news, I went to the Fargo Ribfest today for lunch with a few of my coworkers. For the unfamiliar reader, it’s basically a gathering of Fargo society who enjoy ribs and carnival food. I went for a pulled pork samich (it’s what they called it; I know how to spell sandwich) and deep-fried Oreos. I am not a big deep-fried dessert person. I’ve actually only had a funnel cake before.
I hope everyone has some excellent plans for the weekend. I’m going to be doing book club tomorrow (finishing up Invisible Man). I’m also going into work on Sunday, then having dinner/Kardashian series premier night with my friend Amanda. Yes, the Kardashian’s out of everything is my weakness. Don’t ask…I have no idea why.
Day 10 – Discuss your first love and your first kiss.
I, Jenna Miller, solemnly swear that I have never been in love. If you’ve been reading this series (or my blog in general), you will know this. There is also nothing of fascination to discuss in regards to the first kiss. So instead of rambling about quite literally nothing at all for a post, I’m changing Day 10.
OH NO SHE DIDN’T!?!?!
Yes, she did.
Let’s be honest, people. It’s me. I think we’re all surprised that I even got to day ten. On top of that, I’ve done little writing on this blog recently outside of these prompts. So I’m going to do something kind of cheesy that will end up making sense to this topic after all.
My first love and my first kiss…my family.
Yeah, I went there. I really went there.
It makes sense, right? I mean, the question didn’t ask about romantic love/kisses, did it? No, I don’t think so. That’s me being open-minded, thinking outside of the box. I mean, mum better have kissed my newborn wrinkle face after escaping the womb, right? And you KNOW she loves me.
The reason I decided to go this route is because I have an amazing family, and some of said family makes a point to read every blog post, even if they aren’t that interesting, even if they don’t agree. I can’t pretend that everyone is reading it, of course, but there is my mom, a couple of my aunts, my sister, and sometimes I think even my brother. I haven’t convinced my dad that it’s worthy of his brain function just yet, but all in good time.
What it comes down to is that I want to thank my family for supporting this little blog-venture of mine. I have a fabulous readership, but everything begins with family. No one comes into the world without ancestry and parentage. Some children never meet their parents for whatever reason, but I am indeed lucky to know that I have parents in my life (whether or not they read my blog…DAD). I am lucky to have siblings who I know will always be there for me, and vice versa. I am lucky to have extended family who I actually know and see. I am lucky to have step-family who are like regular family. I am lucky. Thank you all, truly.
Tell me about your first love and/or first kiss. This can be the way it was intended, or how I did it. Let loose.
