Today feels like a good day for getting back into the 30 day challenge. I know my mum is anxious for another installment. Perhaps someone else cares too. I need to get away from Harry Potter emotions for an hour and write something. Here we go.
Day 17 – Your highs and lows of this past year.
In short, there have been many. I’ve done a lot this past year (I’m saying 14 months, thanks), and a lot has happened. I was originally going to make this a giant post, but to justify everything would take much more time than I have today. I’ll be brief.
One of the main “highs” to this last year is the many trips I have been on. England, Wales, Minneapolis, Canada, Seattle, Chicago and Las Vegas is quite a list for a 23-year-old (24 tomorrow) college student who “has no money.” Since I have either already touched on these trips (or will be…eventually) I’m not going to write much here. All I can say is that I’ve met some great people on these trips, learned a lot and had a great time.
Another high from this last year is the simple fact that life is essentially good. I really can’t complain about anything right now. I have wonderful people in my life and a job that I love. I’m also enjoying the education process, even if there are days I want to pull my hair out over the ridiculous system…but that’s for another day.
Having this blog needs mention for a high as well, or just blogs in general. I have been able to talk with some amazing people through this blog and other people’s blogs. You can definitely learn a lot about people through blogging. Having a blog also helps me get out what I want to say. I want ranting about something one day and my friend said “Why don’t you blog about it?” Naturally, that’s what I’m doing now. I blog about “it,” and I love it.
The main low for the last year was the fact that I’m behind on my 101 in 1001 goals list. This was something that I basically accepted before it happened because I’m notorious for not following through (Proof: 30 day challenge should have concluded at the end of June). But I am trying, which I consider to matter for something.
Another low could have been the flooding issues in Minot, ND and surrounding area. For some people it is a low point, but I’m happy to announce that none of my family member’s homes were damaged from the flood. This was very good news indeed. My grandmother went through enough stress with it, so her being able to go home and rest comfortably was fantastic.
I will not include Harry Potter as a high or low in here simply because I’m going to be writing another installment of posts on the subject. So that’s really all I have for now. I’m sure I left out a lot, but those were the main bits for me.
What are some of your highs & lows of the last year?
How was the weekend? Do anything fabulous?
P.S. Check out High Noon Urchins … they feature a cat and Jon Stewart this week, not to mention those lovely urchins.
